About Us

SOUTH STREET PANTRY EST. 2013

Welcome to South Street Pantry, a Vintage Style Tearoom in Bishop’s Stortford where we’ve been trading since 2013, this has been the most amazing journey. We meet so many different people that become part of our “Pantry Family”, we serve the best food and drink too using locally sourced ingredients that are delivered daily.

Danielle, Owner of South Street Pantry was formerly managing events and weddings. She always knew that she wanted to do more and have something family run. South Street Pantry came along and the rest is history, it’s part of home now.

We are open from Breakfast to Tea Time serving home cooked style dishes using the finest British ingredients & of course at a reasonable price point. We offer Traditional Breakfasts including Full English to Smoked Salmon & Scrambled Eggs, Porridge or Homemade Granola.

Our lunches consist of Fresh Sandwiches, Bagels, Jacket Potatoes and Home cooked Pulled Pork Brioche. If you’re looking for a larger lunch we have Burgers, Chicken New Yorker, Quiches plus much more. We serve beautiful salads too if you’re health conscious. Anything we have on site we’re happy to prepare for you…. just ask!

Our Afternoon Teas have been commended as being better than The Ritz, which is such a compliment. All of our scones and cakes are baked fresh daily and on the premises.

We have a large courtyard open during Summer months. Tucked away, quaint and full of blooming flowers it really is Bishop’s Stortford’s hidden gem.

We hope you enjoy browsing through our website and that we welcome you soon at South Street Pantry.

Excellent café run by local people who are passionate about coffee and cake. Great variety on the menu, and sitting outside during the summer months is a delight. The number one brunch spot on Stortford's high street

First visit. Friendly staff and welcome. Lovely food but a bit of a wait for it as they were really busy. Worth the wait. Well presented and delicious. Very reasonable price too. Would recommend.

Absolutely amazing find and a must try if you’re in the area. Firstly let me say the staff are amazing and treat everyone so well, they were lovely from start to finish. The food and cakes are incredible - I ended up taking 3 extra slices of cake with me. If you’re looking for a breakfast in the area - go here.

We visited this restaurant today for a late lunch. I asked the nice waitress if there is any chicken sandwich, as it wasn't on the menu. She said I can have the coronation chicken sandwich. I must say it was the best I've ever had. Big portions with great fillings. My partner had the tomato and basil soup with caramel milkshake. The food here is really good, and the cakes look very delicious. We were too full to have cakes. I recommend this place.
