Meet Oliver

South Street Pantry has been under the ownership of Oliver Colman since 2022. Oliver's goal and vision are to continue growing and evolving this unique tea room, introducing authentic and innovative food and drinks to delight our guests.

Oliver is passionate about food and is always aspiring to introduce new dishes to the business so make sure you check out 'the dish of the day'.  

A true local at heart, Oliver was born and raised in Bishop's Stortford, and his love for the community is evident in his fervent support for all businesses, especially independent businesses.

His journey in the catering industry began at the age of 13, when Oliver started as a pot washer. Driven by determination and a relentless pursuit of success, he worked his way up the ladder, immersing himself in every aspect of the business. This hands-on experience allowed him to develop a comprehensive understanding of the industry.

Oliver is committed to sourcing organic, free-range, and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible, supporting local producers and ensuring that every dish is crafted with care and integrity.
